It becomes the language they use to make friends, solve problems, and get through the day.
Many kids who grew up overseas actually do speak some Mandarin. They may understand their parents, chat with grandparents, or have spent years in weekend Chinese school.
But Mandarin usually stays a "language of home." Every time they visit Taiwan, they eat with family, travel, visit relatives — but rarely get the chance to become part of a group of Taiwanese kids their own age, doing things, playing, and solving problems together.
What Jasmine Garden offers isn't another Mandarin class.
It's a place where Mandarin becomes part of your child's everyday life.
AXC and NOLA are programs built for local families in Taiwan. They're already running, and most of the campers are local Taiwanese kids.
What we do is simple: your child joins the same camps local Taiwanese kids attend, and we provide the English-language support their family needs.
We don't create a separate "overseas kids track" — because that would still leave your child in a group of "other overseas kids" and never actually inside the Taiwanese kids' world.
That "getting in" is what we want.

English gets your child through the door. Mandarin brings them into the group.
Teachers lead AXC tasks in English, with teaching assistants and Chinese-speaking teachers alongside them. The environment is bilingual: children naturally use English and Mandarin, and rules and safety information are explained so each child understands.
But AXC isn't an international camp. Most campers are local Taiwanese kids. When kids form teams, discuss, eat lunch, and play together, the most natural language among them tends to be Mandarin.
English gets your child through the door. Mandarin brings them into the group.
The AXC classroom is a five-day mini-society — kids apply for jobs, get trained, actually work, earn wages, and negotiate with peers, inside English-led tasks alongside Taiwanese kids running the mini-society together.
What this means for your child: they aren't placed in a "language learner" seat. They're a member of this mini-society.
Step directly into the real world, operating in Mandarin.
NOLA's activities are primarily in Mandarin. We don't automatically switch to English just because a child comes from overseas.
Trying to understand, asking teammates, finding another way to express yourself — this is part of entering a real environment. When needed, our team provides English support; for safety, medical, or critical information, English communication support is always available.

9 public sessions. Grades mean the school year your child is attending at the time of registration. Grade 7 is the first year of junior high school. Please ask if your school system uses a different calendar.
Day camp and overnight camp are living arrangements, not difficulty levels. Optional boarding is separate from nights already included in a session.

Optional city boarding costs NT$1,500 per additional night, including breakfast, excluding dinner. For the water session, its activity price already includes four nights; do not add a second accommodation charge. Confirm boarding availability and handover arrangements before booking.
The same child receives NT$800 off each additional session in the same season. Offers do not stack; the more favourable eligible offer applies. Summer early-bird dates are not yet confirmed.
Meal and transport inclusions differ by session. Water-session lunches, dinners and public-transport fares are paid from the child's own budget. The railway session includes one night; confirm meal and fare arrangements before booking. Read your chosen session's current information.

Your child registers for the same AXC or NOLA session Taiwanese kids attend — same session, same price, same rules.
The only difference is that we know your family lives overseas, so we prepare the registration, parent communication, and essential English support you'll need.
In most cases, yes. AXC's teachers instruct in English, so kids don't have to worry about understanding the instruction first; NOLA's core activities are in Mandarin and require basic Mandarin comprehension (understanding everyday conversation and safety instructions). If unsure, message us on WhatsApp with your child's situation and we can decide together.
See "Which camp is the better fit?" above. Quick version: English stronger than Mandarin → start with AXC; Mandarin conversation is fine → choose based on interest; first independent Taiwan camp → AXC day camp is easier to start.
Limited Mandarin doesn't mean your child can't participate. Your child might encounter moments of not understanding, needing to ask again, or having to find another way to express themselves. This is part of the experience.
At AXC, since teachers instruct in English, this happens less often. At NOLA, since the primary language is Mandarin, it happens more — but that's exactly the experience NOLA offers.
